It's a BE (backend) bug. Our instance admins need to update the BE to version 0.18.4.

It's a BE (backend) bug, so it's not Jerboa related. Our instance admins have to update the BE to 0.18.4.

No need to create an issue, it's a BE (backend) bug, fixed in 0.18.4, but our instance admins haven't update to the latest BE version 🤷.

It's not a Jerboa bug, it's a BE bug, confirmed a few posts below. Lemmy.ml should be on 0.18.4, so should lemmy.dbzer0.com.

Yeah, that should be super easy, since In don't speak any German 😒.

Nevertheless, I'll try and see if they reply.

BE of my instance: 0.18.3.

0.0.42... that's the version in the About section.

BE of my instance?

I'll create one 👍. Just need more confirmations, a few more replies should do it.

The title. Basically, when I look at the replies (notifications) and I tap to see where that reply is, the nest comment sort is reverse 🤨, and in some cases, not present at all (it shows up as a new comment in the post, but in fact it's a reply to my comment).

If you just look at that post and comments in "normal mode", everything's fine, no reverse nested order of comments. I've noticed this problem only shows up when viewing replies, but only if you follow (tap) on the links from Notifications.

EDIT: To everyone reading this, this is not a Jerboa bug, it's a backend bug (BE). Instances that have BE version 0.18.4 don't have this bug... so, we have to bug our admins to update the BE.

I usually use 7z as well... mostly because of the higher compression ratio. I resend in zip if I get complaints, but if it's a large file that barely fits in size on whatever hosting service I decide to share the file on, I just tell them to install 7zip or any other archiver that can open 7z archives. If they don't how to do it, hey I also offer remote IT assistance 🤷.

Not me, thanks. I would rather pay for my own vacation, but everyone just leave me TF alone.

IDK, seems stupid to me. The whole point of going to a vacation is to get away from work... well, at least for me. Some workaholics out there might disagree, but that's not me 🤷.

I think there is just way too little data on the subject.

Like, for example, I used to organize some local PsyTrance gigs with DJs mostly (also artists, but the DJ sets were cheaper 🤷) and I know for a fact that at least 1 of the people that DJed on the gigs has a PhD in genetics. The other one, I'm not sure (he said he did have a PhD, but he was just way too plastered at the time to take him seriously).

I think most of them are genuinly afraid to actually say they're highly educated in this or that field, because of how society might look at them if they do - you're a decadent human being, you don't deserve your PhD. Not to mention that for some of these people, this is like an alter ego for them. Some of them have normal 9 to 5 jobs, just like to do drugs and music on the weekends... I don't have anything against this, of course, but society views these things differently 🤷.

I've seen how channels and videos have progressed over the years, and it has been amazing to see the progress in general, but the last year or two, I've been running into more and more so unrealistic personal lab scenarios, that... IDK, I have a feeling that most of this stuff is fake... or I really have no idea where they get the funds for the equipment they say they have in the videos.

Like I was watching this video about growing human neurons 🤨... like WTF, is that a thing now? I mean, I go in the store, buy a bunch of neurons and off I am to growing them? What are they, sea monkeys 🤨. Next, the equipment. One light microscopes and another UV based, not the cheapest ones on the market I might add. Those two easily add up to over 150K. I mean... really, where do people even buy those, it's not something an idividual owns.

I've seen this with other channels as well, like the restoration chanels. A big ass 3D printer, an expensive lathe, all sorts of high precision milling equipment, laser cutters... I mean... where do these people get the money to buy these things, these are not cheap, sure, they're not as expensive as a microscope, but they're still pretty darn expensive, we're still talking about at least 10s of thousands of dollars.

Am I missing something? Cuz I watch these clips and I feel more and more like a looser, like why don't I have that, how much money do these people actually make from YT 🤨.

Tap twice on Home to reset the feed (lemmy.rollenspiel.monster)
submitted 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago) by 0x4E4F@lemmy.rollenspiel.monster to c/jerboa@lemmy.ml

I like that 0.0.41 finally fixed the Home button thing (it brought you back to the beginning of the feed... kinda annoying), but now, I have no way to reset the feed, other than scrolling back to start, lol 😂.

I suggest double tap on Home to reset the feed... or maybe long tap to bring you to the start of the feed (not reset, just bring you to start) and double tap to bring you to top (start) AND reset the feed.

Please add spelling check support (lemmy.rollenspiel.monster)
submitted 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago) by 0x4E4F@lemmy.rollenspiel.monster to c/jerboa@lemmy.ml

Spell checking just doesn't work... as far as I could tell, in all of the apps for Lemmy (at least the 3 or 4 others that I tried apart from Jerboa) and I have no idea why this is.

I have Gboard set up to underline and suggest corrections, not actually auto-correct, because English is not my native language and I use ~~Latin~~ the Latin keybord (mostly) for my native language as well, so it doesn't auto-correct the words when I communicate locally.

Tried SwiftKey, but it doesn't have any options regarding spellchecking, it just has auto correct, suggestions and that's it... so it doesn't actually suite my needs.

I mean... I come from the forum scene and they were always called PMs, as in Private Message. What in the hell does DM stand for and when did things change from people calling them PMs to DMs.

It just stopped loading yesterday, period.
