Simple stopped dado construction with a 1/4" plywood back.

I even remembered to see how high the vacuum cleaner head is in order to position the bottom shelf!

That looks great, I like how clean it all looks. Is that stain or something else?

Just Danish Oil, no stain. Ash naturally has lots of dark areas.

Here's an ash bowl also with a natural finish - it has a lovely contrast.

Wow, you're not kidding. I really like how it highlights the grain. It pops out at you.
