Of course they won't. Democrats spent twenty+ years dismantling the investigative journalism apparatus, killing off or running out those who wouldn't buy into softballing and puff-piecing their bastards. Why would they back something that would allow for calling truth to all power, not just the power that prefers red ties? No, Biden's faction wants to pick and choose. Hell, I don't even trust Schumer to actually be behind this and he's the one who claims writing it.

I find it interesting that Democrats are getting all the heat that was normally reserved for all politicians. They’re not special and certainly not the only perpetrators of watering down journalism and softball interviews.

Honestly, most of that comes from corporate lobbying fearing being exposed for the dirty shit they have the politicians doing their name.

Doesn’t matter Republican or Democrat. They’re both sides of the same shitty political system.

The real fight is rich versus poor, working class verse owner class, and everyone seems to have forgotten that fact. They’ve managed to convince the poorest of people. They may one day be a millionaire and take advantage of the same legal loopholes they have created. So why bother changing anything?

They ironic part is the republican base is the poor an uneducated and have the loudest voices against their own best interests. They cry out against these supposed liberal cities or politicians or democrats that are vilified by the same corporate controlled media.

They have fooled the poor and uneducated to yell and complain and fight about these bullshit supposed cultural issues and have mobilized the Christian fascists and racist white power groups to support them.

Meanwhile, the rest of the world looks in horror as America loses its basic freedoms and rights. Not that the US ranked high among developed nations on lots of these issues to begin with, we are just circling the drain.

Our democracy is so broken that we have to choose between this shitbag and a wannabe dictator. And we really do have to vote for this shitbag unfortunately. Our system sucks.

There are six people running for president, you don't have to vote for a genocidal geriatric.

[–] pulaskiwasright@lemmy.ml 3 points 5 months ago* (last edited 5 months ago) (1 children)

That’s no different than not voting at all effectively. Our democracy is a broken system. Biden is the best choice we have realistically and if we don’t vote for him, then we risk having someone so much worse.

[–] juicy@lemmy.today 4 points 5 months ago (1 children)

lol, ok. you're deluded if you think trump is significantly worse than someone who has fueled a genocide for 6 months with all-you-can-drop bombs. it's like noting that jim jones always held doors open for people before the jonestown massacre. once you do genocide, you're irredeemably evil. people who quibble over whether trump or biden are worse have lost all perspective.

The perspective is that things aren’t black and white. You are making them black and white. There are degrees of bad and Trump is worse. And yes, that’s disappointing. But we still need to keep him out of office because that’s the only actual choice we have in our broken democracy.

There are degrees of bad and Trump is worse.

How?

[–] pulaskiwasright@lemmy.ml 1 points 5 months ago (1 children)

He did a lot, but one thing he did was try to overthrow our democracy. Flawed as it is, it’s still better than not having a democracy at all.

[–] robinn_IV@hexbear.net 4 points 5 months ago (1 children)

Your “democracy” is not “flawed,” it’s a sham to the core. I'm sure the Afghan children that got drone striked under both Obama and Trump see a meaningful difference between the American political parties anyways; your “democracy” is crap and it would be better for the entire world if the US was carpet bombed.

And the fear-mongering surrounding Jan. 6th is so fundamentally stupid, seriously give me a conceivable way this tiny group of chud idiots who couldn’t even hang Mike Pence for the good of humanity could have fundamentally undone American society.

There are degrees of bad and Trump is worse, of course. “Someone who has fueled a genocide for 6 months with all-you-can-drop bombs” is obviously the lesser evil to the man who sent a bunch of brainless zombies trying to climb a wall with a set of stairs feet away to overthrow the US government.

If you saw us get overthrown by a dictator, as Trump attempted to do, you’d see the difference between a flawed democracy and no democracy at all.

[–] robinn_IV@hexbear.net 3 points 5 months ago (1 children)

Get your fingers out of your ears. You are fundamentally unserious.

Your previous comment has dishonest paraphrasing among other things. You’re fundamentally dishonest in your messages and not worth talking to.

[–] robinn_IV@hexbear.net 3 points 5 months ago

Please, show me the dishonest paraphrasing.
