The article really whitewashes the fact that this child is a slave. They refer to a 10 year old as a "domestic help" (aka: "maid"), which is honestly nearly as disgusting as the couple who bought a slave child in the first place.

If it's any consolation, here's the video of the couple being confronted by the mob (no blood/gore, just mostly slapping and hair pulling and a lot of yelling): https://archivevideomirror.com/?filename=153qkh6.mp4

They deserve worse, IMO.

Yet another example of modern day slavery

I was thinking about this as well. It's infuriating that such a tiny child is being forced to interact with monsters rather than being protected and sheltered from them.

Man mob justice is scary. Might be justified, I mean mistreatment of a slave child, but just for a second imagine you get the neighbor on accident

Tf does him being a pilot have to do with anything?

[–] Eggyhead@kbin.social 4 points 1 year ago (1 children)

The wife was the pilot. She and her husband abused the child.

Okay, same question but change the pronoun to her. Wtf does her being a pilot have to do with anything?

[–] Eggyhead@kbin.social 4 points 1 year ago

My guess would be to add shock value to the article, since pilots are traditionally held in high regard. It's subtly mentioned that she's a private pilot though, so probably just a citizen with a pilot's license anyway.

I don't think it said he was a pilot.

It's the first word of the headline. It's not the husband, though, it's the wife.

Police said the woman works as a pilot in a private airline while her husband is deployed as a ground staff at another one.

Aight then wtf does her being a pilot have to do with anything.
