This troll used an admin name with one more letter. How do we deal with admin identity theft? Should instance admins reserve usernames preemptively? This troll will likely try u/Desssalines or something similar next. Maybe mod/admin flairs should be more flashy to avoid such confusions?

I'm thinking maybe a new feature where instances can switch off custom display names for new users, or wait X days/X threshold until new users' custom display names are made public?

I can't currently check, but don't admins already have a shield icon next to their username?

Edit: typo

I just checked, the admin have a little "admin" text next to their username and moderators in a community have the text "mod" next to their username.

Feels like that solves itself then as more people see those tags. Just ban these when it pops up and look for those. Reddits never been had issues with someone confusing u/spez with u/spezz or u/speez day old accounts.
