You can configure Lemmy to hide read posts. It's not as convenient, and it has the side effect that you can't see your own posts anymore, but maybe it works for your use case.
Jerboa
Jerboa is a native-android client for Lemmy, built using the native android framework, Jetpack Compose.
Warning: You can submit issues, but between Lemmy and lemmy-ui, I probably won't have too much time to work on them. Learn jetpack compose like I did if you want to help make this app better.

Would you file a feature request for this? Stuff requested on the official dev platform have a much better chance to get picked. https://github.com/dessalines/jerboa/issues
RiF had a feature to hide any post you voted on, with an option to only hide posts you downvoted. I used the downvote-hide option and it made a huge difference in the way used Reddit. It made me use downvotes they were intended: not as a disagree button but to reduce the visibility of content.
I love this idea. Can we do this please?!
