There IS hope for Republicans to do the right thing!

Nah he's just doing it so they write one they don't think the courts will instantly strike down.

And he's still going to be doing what the bill was going to.

DeWine announced his intention to use administrative processes to prohibit surgeries in the state and to gather data on transgender care for both youth and adults. However, the most concerning aspect of Gov. DeWine's announcement was the potential for increased scrutiny of transgender adults in Ohio. The specifics of these administrative processes and rules are yet to be determined.

This is heart breaking considering that Cleveland Clinic is (was?) the go-to place for trans men to have top surgery. Dr. Medalie did my top surgery there in '10 and I traveled quite a way for him specifically.

This only confirms that there's one Republican who hasn't yet been completely ruined.

Oh no he's a shit bag. He's just a politically adebt shit bag. A lot of the Ohio legislature is culture warriors who have no clue how to govern our have political savvy. DeWine came up the ranks when Ohio was still purple and knows that his veto will be overridden but by vetoing the bill he can appear moderate when he tries for senate or something in 2028.

Glass half full papa. This means a whole state can help save lives in the future. 🩷

Even a broken clock is right twice a day. I agree this is good news, but we’ll be back to shit soon.

It's incredible to me how many republicans have been happily giving their rights away in the name of boogeymen.

Abortion isn't about abortion, it's about bodily autonomy. You don't want to government to force a vaccine in you, or sterilize you or...? Well, don't give them precedent by letting them force half the population to do things with their bodies against their will.

If being a decent person isn't enough motivation, then support trans rights because they're people making choices for themselves and you want that for yourself. Jesus. This should be a conservative position.
