Jerboa is a native-android client for Lemmy, built using the native android framework, Jetpack Compose.

Warning: You can submit issues, but between Lemmy and lemmy-ui, I probably won't have too much time to work on them. Learn jetpack compose like I did if you want to help make this app better.

My account settings are set to Subscribed/New, but when I open the app I see Local/All and then have to change it.

I think the latest updates broke that, it used to work on 0.0.34

Hopefully it'll be fixed soon.

Unfortunately it is not. There's still a problem with the viewmodels but a major rework has been merged last night and a new version should release soon ™

"Major rework" is almost underselling it lol

40 changed files with 1,219 additions and 753 deletions

I wonder how long this rework has been in progress because I can't imagine anyone having that much time in a day.

Looking forward to this dropping on the play store. I've been finding myself tempted to click on that little red robot(?) icon today 😔

For some reason the app won't let me install it

It downloads fine and I even have installing apps from unknown sources ticked

IDK I might just have to wait

Edit: looks like the app updated on Google play to 0.36, heck yeah

If you have it installed via the Play Store you can't update apps via downloading a new version from github. Google signs their apps with a different certificate and Android then blocks the update.

That would explain the issue I was having perfectly

I might try to just switch to the GitHub version once things stabilize a bit with the whole new life Lemmy is getting

I am having similar issues after the newest update. In fact, if I switch accounts, it still only shows me Subscribed New for the previously logged in account

[–] frosty99c@lemmy.ml 3 points 1 year ago

Same. If you switch accounts, close the app, and then reopen you'll be on the changed account. Still can't change sort though.

I downgraded to 0.0.35. Also experiencing json error when switching profiles. And also the sorting to local/all and new/top etc. Does not work with 0.0.38

Did you hit "save settings" at the bottom? I've forgotten to a couple of times

[–] RightHandOfIkaros@lemmy.world 4 points 1 year ago

Its broken, at least the Play Store version. Tapping "Save Settings" doesn't do anything but make the button go grey. It doesnt save any settings, and the update reset all previous settings.

I have the same problem. It's correct in my settings.

This morning it's gotten better. Now it shows Subscribed/Hot and won't let me change it. When I attempt to change the sort method is just reloads Subscribed/Hot.

Just upgraded to 0.0.36 from fdroid (likely Izzy repo because I doubt fdroid was that fast compiling this newest version released yesterday) and I'm having the same issue. Can't get my home page to show me anything but local/active. Suppose I'll be downgrading until they get it fixed.
