I see this post from my own instance and this wasn't possible until lemmy.ml migrated to 0.18 yesterday so my hope is that comments are fixed too and when other instances Will upgrade to 0.18 today the situation should be better everywhere
Lemmy
Everything about Lemmy; bugs, gripes, praises, and advocacy.
For discussion about the lemmy.ml instance, go to !meta@lemmy.ml.
From my 0.17 instance it looks like the situation has improved.
This post from 2 days ago has 90 comments, but only 38 on my instance. Other posts from around that time period are missing dozens of comments on my instance too.
Meanwhile this post from today has 48 comments, and also 48 on my instance.
On some posts some comments are still not showing, for example this one with 88 comments only shows 84 on my instance, but it's not missing dozens like the older posts.
Thanks for info! I've heard that server restarts delete any queued up federation requests since they're only saved in memory. Maybe that's what's happening?
I’m on lemmy.ml and was having the “subscription pending” problem with some other instances, despite multiple attempts and subscribing.
Once 0.18 landed, I tried again and it worked, so I’ve imagined they have cleaned up some bugs around federation.
Though I’ve the status of the subscription doesn’t update straight away, which is a very minor bug.
Yeah I am also seeing the bug with the subscription button.
I do wonder if the federation bugs have actually been fixed, or its just due to less load because Websockets were removed.
Possible!
This morning I am unable to subscribe to !technology@lemmy.ml, both from my own instance and from lemmy.world
I sure hope so!
