I tried Pioneers of Pagonia and Foundry yet.

Pioneers is a building strategy game in the tradition of the Settlers series, of which I was a great fan until Ubi ruined it.
Foundry is a mix of factory/automation simulation comparable to Factorio or Satisfactory - and minecraft. With a big priority for factories, and decent system requirements.

Both make a great impression for now, although there are no story elements yet, and no enemies.
So it's just building up your economy. Which is okay for a start. I put both on my wishlist, and I will most probably buy into pioneers on start of EA indecember.
I have small doubts on Foundry whether it will be fun in the long term. Because by now it's "minecraft part" consists only of the materials dirt and stone. And since the factorIes themselfes look rather ugly (compared to satisfactory) I would wish for many stuff to build pretty buildings around them.

So far, I only checked out the demo for Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor, A Vampire Survivors-like.

My first few runs were a bit boring, but you unlock more items to find on your runs, which can spice things up in the future. I beat the first stage twice, and the second time it was a complete breeze and I just mowed through the enemies.

The game is somewhat similar to Brotato, it's wave based, although the waves are longer than in Brotato and in my runs I only had to do five, no idea if it increases on higher difficulties.

Like you'd expect in a DRG game, you won't just kill the bugs, but also mine Gold, Nitra, whatever else. In between rounds you can buy upgrades with Nitra and Gold, and between runs you can spend the other resources for permanent upgrades.

I look forward to the Early Access release, and if it's in the same ballpark as many other Survivors games, so about 5€, I'll probably immediately buy it.

Yep, I really enjoyed DRG:S, brings a bit of new mechanics to the "survivore genre" and the upgrades are pretty cool.

This one actually seemed interesting to me. I'm a sucker for mining as part of the loop of it's done well.

It gave me "invalid platform error" on steam deck though.

The mining itself is pretty simplistic, you just run into the minerals and auto-mine. It still adds a bit more variety to the game, since it's not just collecting XP to level. You also get some secondary objectives, like collect X flowers, mushrooms or Morkite.

For me the game works on the Deck, but the launch videos are broken. I just get some kind of test pattern and after 5 seconds it loads me into the main menu.

Eh, maybe it won't work for me. The benefit of a demo, in theory.

It straight up wouldn't download. Maybe I'll try again later.

I love Next Fest... but I'm really waiting for the Halloween sale on horror games.

I tried the demo of American Arcadia, it's a story driven side scrolling game, with some nice twist to it. The Demo can be finished in like 30 minutes, totally worth trying it.
