Is there any way to get unbanned or at least plead my case?

I'm banned from hexbear, and also I don't know what I'm doing

You're better off banned from hexbear tbh, the place is a cesspit

Lol

Edit: btw OP, I'm laughing because getting banned from hexbear is very easy to do, and getting unbanned from hexbear is very much not easy to do. It's kinda their whole thing

Lol, they did you a favour. It’s the only instance I ban.

Depends, what does the modlog say for why you were banned?

Yeah the mod is an A grade dick. Mods are at times power mad, and this is a case in point. Anyone can see that's not what you were saying.

[–] Wes4Humanity@lemm.ee 7 points 1 week ago (2 children)

Thank you, had no idea this was a thing

Ofc! It's called the modlog, and it's usually accessible via the footer of every instance, or by appending /modlog to an instance's URL, e.g. https://hexbear.net/modlog

There is a community where Alice will make you a mod if you ask and you can do this too. I forgot the name of the community though.

Name and shame that mod

Ban him again

Not advocating this, but: on the fediverse there is almost no way to tell you are evading a ban by creating a new account if you do it on another instance.

I don't think your ban reason leaves a lot of room for that..

To be fair, what Wes said was just plain fact- there's an important distinction between someone with paedophilia and a child molester. But hexbears aren't a fan of facts or other people's feelings, so

[–] Wes4Humanity@lemm.ee 7 points 1 week ago

Lol... Thank you

[–] Wes4Humanity@lemm.ee 9 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago)

I mean... The prompt was "what's your most unpopular opinion" ffs

But thanks for finding that for me... Had no idea I could even see why they banned me... Although I assumed it was that

[–] Taalnazi@lemmy.world 2 points 1 week ago

Where do you see ban reasons? πŸ‘€

Tell them you love Xi Jing Ping and Joseph Stalin, and they might unban you.

/s Just take it as a badge of honor

Go talk to the mods, but perhaps consider not posting stuff like this:

... There's an important distinction between someone with pedophilia and a child molester ...

But, to be honest being banned from hexbear is probably a good thing. That place is a shithole.

[–] Wes4Humanity@lemm.ee 1 points 5 days ago

Lol... Well there is, but I get most people don't like understanding things like that. Let alone discussing them... But the prompt was "what's your most unpopular opinion" so you know... Wtf

Well there is a difference and the horrific nature of the discussion doesn't mean it's one that we shouldn't have, leave alone ban people for wanting to discuss.

One is sick in the head, one has acted upon their sick thoughts. One could possibly be helped before they commit a horrible crime, the other needs to be prosecuted.
