The use of "transgenderism" in the official announcement told me everything I needed to know.

Zuckerberg jumped on the Trump train. I think this anti LGBTQ stance is based on the MAGA opinions that were needed to raise votes.

He knows the only people who still use that platform are celebrating less facts and more AI slop. It's time to seriously start getting our parents off of facebook

Where should we point them?

I'm personally looking into setting up a friendica instance for my family

“more speech and fewer mistakes.”

You can't make moderation mistakes if you stop moderating. tap head with finger

i don’t think this is zuck going all in on trump, I think it’s him realizing there will be no consequences under him for doing what he already wanted to: not do any moderation.

He doesn’t want to have to be responsible for anything. He wants the money coming in so he can pursue his pet projects, and thus is minimizing the overhead on the existing money printers.

I’d agree, but the fact that it’s specifically written that you’re now allowed to call homosexuality a mental illness, for example, seems to me a little more than just “I don’t want to moderate any more”

Zuckerberg is just cynically following the political winds to avoid Trump going after Meta at Elmo's behest. He doesn't care any way about anything other than getting and keeping (not) his money. The second Democrats control all 3 branches, if that ever happens again, he'll make another 180. Don't give him the credit of saying these are his true, "mask off" morals or beliefs; he has no morals or beliefs.
