Can't have two teams from the safe federation bruv.

[–] kameecoding@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago (1 children)

pretty sure it's a joke about them not qualifying for cl bruv

[–] BB_C@programming.dev 1 points 1 year ago

thnx for pointing that out bruv

the joke went completely over my head like

thought it was a real group L and Chelsea was accidentally written instead of Sporting or Leverkusen

Jesus!

Hit F to pay respects to Group F.

Group F is the toughest one

[–] Gingerrific@lemmy.world 10 points 1 year ago (1 children)

There is no clear front runner in that group and there will be no easy game, so every point is going to matter.

I'd like to see Milan and Dortmund move on but I have a feeling it will be Newcastle and PSG.

Everybody pumped for Qatar vs Saudi Arabia?

Because I know I'm not, at all. May they both manage a maximally embarasing flop.

[–] kameecoding@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago

if you don't like that, you can have UAE v Saudi Arabia i the EFL Cup

Group F was something I was expecting lol.

I thought it would be Bayern/psg, RM, AC, Newcastle.

this is not much weaker though, lol, kinda feel Dortmund, despite being in pot 2 is the weakest link.

didn't know plastics were magnetic Man City and Leipzig are meeting again

[–] BB_C@programming.dev 3 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago)

Funny, considering in Leipzig's case, most plasticism exists on the anti side, especially with non-Germans playing pretend traditionalist.

Bonus points when it comes from an EPL old-money big 6 fan.

Overall I feel like most groups are quite balanced. Also there's quite some teams we're not used to seeing in the champions league. This might be a year of great european football.

I'm hoping Benfica improves defensively and wins the group. Our home game against Inter last year was the worst one we had all year.

Christ. Welcome back to European football, Newcastle. 😬

If only City was in their group, would have had 3 oil state derbys

[–] Jackthelad@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago

I Can't Believe It's Not Sportswashing.

[–] Astrealix@lemmy.world 1 points 1 year ago

Pots mean the only way that coulda happened is if PSG hadn't won the league last season, or if City didn't win either the UCL or the PL

Okay draw for Leipzig.

Didn't know Braga was ahead of Sporting last season. Good for them.

Groups A and C may have a surprise or two in them.

Union Berlin is going to have a very tough time.

[–] BB_C@programming.dev 4 points 1 year ago

Teams on Union's group will have a tough time. They have no idea what's coming.
