Former Ku Klux Klan leader David Duke has endorsed Green Party nominee Jill Stein over former President Donald Trump, though Stein has rebuked the endorsement.

Duke acknowledged that his endorsement of the far-left candidate would "shock" his supporters, but said that his decision was based on what is "good for white people, Europeans, as well as all humanity."

You quoted the wrong part in summary, should be this one:

Stein said she rejected the endorsement from Duke.

"A racist troll has 'endorsed' our campaign to draw attention to himself, and certain smear merchants are happy to platform this troll to attack us," Stein wrote in a post on X, formerly Twitter.

"Of course I reject any 'endorsement' from a white supremacist like David Duke, unlike Kamala Harris who can't stop bragging about her endorsement from white supremacist mass murderer Dick Cheney."

Drag thinks he's a racist piece of shit, but drag doesn't think he's trolling. He says in the article that he thinks Trump is bowing to "Jewish supremacy". Apparently, he thinks only white people should be allowed to commit genocide. This doesn't read to drag like a fake opinion, this reads like something a Klansman would genuinely believe.

Drag also thinks he's working against his own goals by endorsing Stein, because Stein's campaign is trying to take votes from Harris and secure a Trump presidency. But then, fascists aren't exactly known for rational thinking.

Drag made a post about Stein earlier today that was removed, and in the comments somebody made the argument Stein's campaign is actually taking votes from Trump, not Harris. Drag wasn't convinced, but their source did contain the shocking information that Stein is endorsed by Duke. So drag posted it. If Stein's core voter base is indeed white supremacists who just hate Israel for being Jewish, that's very interesting. Though as you say, Stein is maintaining the narrative that her base is left wing, which matches what drag previously believed and the fact that she's getting Russian funding to help Trump.

Tell me again how voting third party is the progressive thing to do...

It is progressive, even if some of the backers are fascists (let's face it all parties have a couple).

It's just stupid to do so in a two-horse race where the stakes of actual fascism is high.

It sounds progressive, but the immediate and long-term effects are only regressive, so no, it's not.

Being progressive and wrong is the same as not being progressive. Drag has known people who said things like "I respect transsexuals' right to crossdress, but biology says it's impossible." That's not true, biology does support the existence of trans people. Those people drag knew tried to be progressive, but they failed because they didn't have the right knowledge. They should have spent more time learning so they could be progressive correctly. Their wrongness made them reactionary.

Being wrong about the mathematics of voting systems can also mean failing to be progressive, even with the best intentions. Jill Stein doesn't have good intentions, but some of her voters do. It's just that the Stein voters with good intentions have bad maths.
