I’m sure it’s been insufferable with all our bullshit. Thanks for helping others avoid our noise.
It never really bothered me till recently. The spam of trump face was literally hogging most of my feed.
It's going to get worst because next year is a election year. I just block all of the big politics communities.
Thank you! I feel like I've been playing non-stop whack-a-mole trying to block all the news communities from my feeds!
Welcome. Lemmy became almost unbearable to browse recently and especially these two days. Glad i could find a solution. Again, thanks to the user i mentioned above for the tip and the blocklist. He's the true hero.
Connect for lemmy instance block has been helpful. Helps clean up communities in one go if you find you don't like a majority of the communities from an instance and they seem too active populating /c/all and hurting discovery of communities you might be interested in from during a quick browse.
I like the recent meme pictures but am getting tired of the contstant political chatter
Or just use the subscribed feed
Even memes are polluted. There's no escape.
If you subscribe to a memes community, you deserve what you get.
Fediverse isn't active or big enough to sustain subscribed like reddit. Some communities just die out too, so new is a way to discover new communities of interest.
I have never understood why people would like Lemmy and then look at any feed other than subscribed. You might as well use mastodon if just a free flow of posts is your thing. I do like the list of keywords though for those rare occasions I look at the universal feed.
Mastodon is an entirely different format
Few of the communities that I care about have made it to Lemmy and those who have are pretty barren. The All feed is the only way for me to actually use Lemmy
Discovering new communities ?
I only look at subscribed in Lemmy and followed in Masto. I never liked "All" or "Trending" type stuff anywhere.
Or find a local instance.
Lemmy is still too small. It got barely enough (interesting ) content by browsing all
I find I have plenty of content. It's not the firehose of content on Reddit but that means I am not tempted to doomscroll for hours.
It depends on your instance but yeah. Lemmy content is still mostly interesting stuff.
