Preferably something with a social aspect too where you can see the books others have read. Something like MyAnimeList but for books

I have been using Bookwyrm - it's a fediverse style replacement for Goodreads.

I love using The Story Graph. It works well in the browser and there's and app. https://thestorygraph.com/

Yes, they can

What you are looking for its something like goodreads (amazon owned), bookwyrm is trying to do the same in open source with ActivityPub (https://joinbookwyrm.com/) but it's still in a let's say "usable alpha state".

If you want a open source app with no social aspect I'm using https://github.com/mateusz-bak/openreads-android.

Another vote for StoryGraph. Goodreads is Amazon owned so fuck them. If you have a Goodreads account you can export it to SG.

The Storygraph is really cool.

Neat idea, but it would probably take me a year to populate an app like that with all the books I've read. :(

Goodreads is probably what you're looking for

Stop using Excel as a database.
