AA24 - Day 24

I'm finding a middle ground between closeness and comfort to hopefully finish out the month with this blade.

Very nice. This Damaskeene is particularly mild, and it's a joy to use. Good efficiency despite not much blade feel.

Used 4.9 grams of soap today, which is a lot. I don't use badger knots often so wasn't sure how much to load, but apparently I can dial it back a tad. Really nice lather, though.

You might notice the thread title is slightly different today. It's going to go back closer to normal tomorrow, so the day of the week will be the first word (makes it easier to find).

There was finally an update that fixed our auto-post bot, so we're back to hosting that ourselves at schedule.wetshaving.social. They added a "counter" option, so each post can have a sequential number. Based on this post I plugged the date into a calculator and today should be day #440. Tomorrow is 441, etc. If someone can check my work on that, I'd be very appreciative.

The developer of the scheduled-post bot said he's quite busy these days, so working on this side project has been moved to the back burner. Hopefully it doesn't break with future versions of Lemmy. Just part of the problem with using two different projects, one very active and undisciplined, and one not as active and trying to keep up.

I had to go back to a 2-pass shave today since yesterday's shave was so close. And, I was rushed today so I my shave took about 8 minutes. The comfort was there, but attention to detail was not.

Day 24/31 of Looking for Serenity in Austerity

  • Brush: Semogue Owner's Club (cherry wood and boar) (24)
  • Razor: Zwilling J. A. Henckels Friodur 50 (7/8", hollow ground, stainless steel, masonic deco) (7)
  • Lather: Spearhead Shaving Company – Seaforth! Roman Spice
  • Post Shave: Spearhead Shaving Company – Seaforth! Roman Spice
  • Fragrance: Spearhead Shaving Company – Seaforth! Roman Spice

So, just yesterday, I was loudly (and impatiently) wondering whether the tips of this brush would ever start splitting, only to wake up to a mass splitting event this morning.

Now we're cooking.

Pretty wild that it took this long, and that so many are going at the same time.

Yeah, I was a bit shocked, but looking a bit closer at the brush picture of two days ago, I can see some that started already then. I must not have paid attention yesterdayπŸ˜
