I enjoy Hallows, even in June. However, today is hot, so it is not the best match for the weather.

Thanks! Will "suggestive sold" me with an ad that offered the towel, a shot glass, and a brandy snifter. What got to me was this photo. I remember thinking how poor the lighting was on the glassware and that I could do a much nicer job of it. Of course, that was a passing thought :)

Spooky Season

  • Brush: Zenith r/Wetshaving exclusive MOAR BADGER (Silvertip) #SUBBROOSH
  • Razor: Wolfman WR2 (1.55 mm SB / 1.25 mm OC)
  • Blade: Polsilver
  • Lather: Southern Witchcrafts – Autumn Ash
  • Post Shave: Southern Witchcrafts – Autumn Ash
  • Fragrance: Southern Witchcrafts – Autumn Ash

Challenge: the spookiest fruit of this sub is obviously the Boonana (thanks to today's sponsor, SW), so have a razorfin boonanashark (razorcut).

Theme, relevant post and frag: It's right there in the name.

The MOAR BADGER is the biggest badger I've ever tried, and while being comically large, it's super fun to use. Just a giant lather pillow with soft, soft tips. So nice.

What's the knot size on your MOAR BADGER?

Ok. Obviously, I know that the Zenith knot was 31mm. Makes sense that you would get as close to that as you could. My largest badger knot is my 29mm ThΓ€ter. If I reverse-sort my most-used badger brushes, the top 5 are 27mm and above. I love that cloud-like feel.

I haven't tried small badgers yet. My Zenith Manchurian is the smallest with 27mm, but I have bought a 24mm B3 recently that's still sitting with a reshipper in the US. I'm curious to see what difference it'll make

The height that you set the knot makes a real difference. My Elite Razor brush (shown here has a 24mm HMW badger knot that has the splay and feel of my ThΓ€ter (29mm). The Chisel&Hound Fanchurian knots are all 26mm and Rob sets them so they splay well and have that cloud-like feel.

Yeah, totally. I've set a Gelousy knot as deep as the bore hole would allow in my Dogwood Tabak handle, but the loft is just too high and the brush is overly floppy. πŸ™„

I can't believe these Trafalgar brushes are $45 now. I think when my wife got it for me they were closer to $30? Maybe I'm remembering wrong.

Anyway, assuming this is the knot they use, it's $21 at AP Shave Co. https://apshaveco.com/products/28mm-independent-synthetic-fibre-knot-bulb-uhd
