No, it's not. The only people who believe this are pro-European colonialism. The ONLY reason Taiwan wasn't immediately reintegrated through the final defeat of the KMT is because Britain and the USA intervened to protect the KMT for the express purpose of turning them into neocolonial vassal. They are not a de facto state, the are a de defacto neo-colony that needs to be severed from the West's bloody fascist hands.
