How's Krastorio vs AngelBob? I keep trying AngelBob but it's so tedious to make progress that I lose interest after a few hours.
Krastorio is only a little bit more complicated to vanilla factorio. So the difference to AngelBob is massive. Krastorio is the easiest overhaul mod out of SE, AB, etc. Just give it a try, it's not like we don't all have a huge graveyard of started runs in our saves folder ;)
Also totally different topic the warptorio mod is very cool as well, and not crazy complicated! Just make sure to warp manually, don't wait for the timer, defense will eat all your resources ;)

Krastorio is to me a Vanilla+ mod. It feels like the base game would if there was just more of it. Depending on your point of view, this could be good or bad. It's still going to be longer than vanilla, and has few truly revolutionary mechanics, but it also doesn't get as awkward as things like angelbob or spaceex.
For what it's worth. K2 is the one modded playthrough I've completed (twice, even) and I would reccommend giving it a try.
