MODERATORS

A poll conducted by GSMArena suggests that Android Auto is used by 50.1% of car owners, while only 17.4% use Apple CarPlay. No insight into the "I use my phone with a holder" camp is given, as they could be Android or iPhone users.

I really wish I could try Android Auto, but my car is too old to support anything like that. I have a phone mount though and everything works perfectly fine that way (maps, music, etc.)

I bought this thing on Amazon and it has been working very well on the motorcycle.

There are other variants that come with suction and dash mounts under different brand names all over Amazon.

Very interesting! I didn't know there was such a thing. I may have to look into it at some point! Although granted I feel like my phone mount does a decent enough job without taking up too much space.

Yeah, I realize it's kind of cheap Chinese junk, but it honestly works better than it has any right to.

I agree though, using the phone in your case might be the best option, or could I indulge you in this!? Haha

I think the biggest thing for me would be that using these sorts of systems means the addition of a lot more wires than my current setup and either a partial obstruction to the windshield or my dashboard's control system which I'm not really keen on.

I hear ya. Probably the way to go would just to get an Android auto head unit.
