Linux is a family of open source Unix-like operating systems based on the Linux kernel, an operating system kernel first released on September 17, 1991 by Linus Torvalds. Linux is typically packaged in a Linux distribution (or distro for short).
Distributions include the Linux kernel and supporting system software and libraries, many of which are provided by the GNU Project. Many Linux distributions use the word "Linux" in their name, but the Free Software Foundation uses the name GNU/Linux to emphasize the importance of GNU software, causing some controversy.

I use Betterbird because I want my E-Mail text in the right pane, not at the bottom like in Thunderbird. And Betterbird is the only program that can be configured to show 2 lines of info per mail in the list pane, instead of putting it all in columns side by side, for which there isn't enough room on my screen. (This feature has been requested in Thunderbird since 2003!)
thunderbird has the right pane view as an option
Yes, but it can't show subject and sender on top of each other in the e-mail list pane, so the list takes up too much horizontal space for the mail text to be on the right.
It can, since v115.
oops, thanks. I missed that option.
