Summary

Iranian pop star Amir Hossein Maghsoudloo, known as Tataloo, has been sentenced to death for blasphemy after the supreme court overturned a prior five-year prison sentence.

Tataloo, who had been living in Istanbul since 2018, was extradited to Iran in 2023 and has since been detained.

He also faces charges of promoting “prostitution” and spreading “propaganda” against the Islamic Republic.

The verdict is not final and can still be appealed.

Once a figure courted by conservatives, Tataloo gained fame for his controversial music and tattoos.

I just have to say, you have a fundamental misunderstanding of the concept of god if you view it as a him or any kind of conscious figure making decisions for humans.

That's not how god works, not even in the minds of its believers.

Both sheep and wolves are religious but for different reasons. You seem to be saying that there are only wolves.

However, the wolves are dressed as sheep, and occasionally it is useful to tear off the sheepskins they hide under in order to save other animals that they also eat, if not also the sheep.

I wish that were true. Millennia of indoctrination to serve the status quo (political as much as religious) shows otherwise.
