“The draft resolution is in the negotiation process and it is expected to be tabled at the UN General Assembly for approval soon,” Malaysian News Agency quoted Ibrahim as saying Monday during a session of the Malaysian Parliament.

He added that once approved, the resolution is expected to be a legal basis for the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) to continue providing aid for the Palestinians in the occupied Palestinian territories and in other countries.

On October 31, 2024, Malaysia became a member of the Core Group tasked with preparing a resolution requesting an Advisory Opinion from the International Court of Justice (ICJ) regarding Israel’s obligation to allow United Nations organizations to conduct their activities.

I doubt they think that. You're being ridiculous. Taiwan is de facto independent, and there is some push over there to declare independence officially. The ROC is of a different era at the end of the day.

The USA doesn't officially recognize the ROC but it is US law that consular, travel and business relations between them. Nancy Pelosi travelled to Tawain only a couple years ago.

Anyway, the rights for all people to self-govern themselves should come first over all that.

I guess it's fortunate that the world doesn't draw borders according to where Nancy Pelosi decides to go. Can't help but notice that all this talk of "the right to self government" is always appended to paragraphs firmly talking about what the US wants and the US does.

Yeah, we know the US government is a hypocritical liar. We know they have been putting up their puppets to talk about independence now that it's become clear China won't go the way of the USSR. The fact is, both parties stick to the one china principle, and if it weren't for the US, Taiwan would have been as integrated with the PRC as Guangzhou or Shenzhen. Ask Chiang Kai Shek and the CIA what they thought of the Taiwanese people's right to self government in the 60s.

I am not a US citizen and there are plenty of instances of the US government not supporting self-determination. I was talking about myself and I would hope most people's opinion worldwide, not some governement.

The PRC didn't invade Tawia when they the ROC's army fled there. Is that because of the USA? Taiwan has been seperate from China for almost eighty years now, that's a long time!
