This is would be a good reason if it were explained to the people while their comment was being deleted. This is not what's being done.

A little latitude for people behaving like normal human beings would be better. If the requirement for posting here is that everyone have the intellect and consistent principles of Huey Newton then you're going to be very busy mods.
