Hello Everyone!

I finally finished The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. Took about 90 hours, and still have a lot left to do, but wanted to find out the full story, so finished the main quest. I liked the story a lot more than BotW. If you have already finished it, what did you think about the story? (without giving away any spoilers). Going to keep playing this as my primary game for a while though, while also thinking about which game to start next.

Secondary games:

  • Finished Marvel's Avengers. Nothing new to say about it. It could've been a very good game, if not for Live Service elements.
  • Almost finished Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder's Revenge. I am at stage 14, so just couple of them left. Will check the trophies after finishing the game and see if I want to platinum it. Only playing it with my kid, so going a bit slowly.
  • Started The Order 1886, it's a very small games, 4-5 hours at most, but didn't get much time to play after starting it, would try to finish it. The games holds up really well visually and gameplay vise.
  • I have committed to Monster Hunter: World now. Going to finish it, no matter how long it takes. Until now, I was only playing it with friends, but would try to do some optional stuff solo too, now that TotK is finished.

That's all for now. What about all of you? What are you playing? And what do you plan to play next? And how are you enjoying them?

Congratulations in finishing Tears of the Kingdom! To me, the story was definitely an improvement from the first game, with more memorable and epic moments.

As for me, last week I broke down and got myself a Steam deck! I already installed several games to try out, with intention to give Ni No Kuni a real shot this time. Last time I played the game I dropped it after several hours because I found combat boring, let's see if this time will be different.

On Nintendo Switch I am slowly getting through The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles. Currently I am on case 4 of the first game.

And lastly, on PS5, I am playing Forspoken. I finished main story last weekend, and right now I am just roaming the world and doing side activities.

Thanks!

Steam deck is a great device, but I already have so many games to play, getting another "console" isn't going to help with that. And since you also have PS5, take a look at Chiaki for SteamDeck, to remote play PS5 games. Learned about it from @CosmicSploogeDrizzle@lemmy.world , our resident mod and creator of !ps5@lemmy.ml, you can ping him for any help related to that.

Ni No Kuni is a very fun game, played the first one PS3. A much better Pokémon game than some of the newer Pokémon game.

How are you liking The Great Ace Attorney? I haven't started the series yet, but going to get the Phoenix Wright games soon.

Same question, how are you liking Forspoken? I liked the demo, but the full game review haven't been that great. Though some of the people I know who have played the game have enjoyed it.

Thanks for the Chiaki recommendation! I tried it very first day the steam deck arrived, I might play few games this way when SO steals the TV.

Regarding Ni No Kuni, first time I played it I liked the story, but the combat did not click with me (dropped it about 6 hours in). Never played pokemon, so it might be that I'm just not used to that kind of gameplay.

Great Ace Attorney is... well, great. I played the first AA trilogy few years back and liked it a lot, so I knew I would like this games as well, and it definitely delivered. Which collection are you planing to start with? I would suggest the first trilogy, although you can't go wrong with either of these.

Forspoken is a tough sell. I personally find it fun to play, combat and world traversal are the highlights for sure. The story, while it has it issues, is not as bad as people on the Internet are saying. I would say that if you liked the demo, you would also like the game itself. Not worth the 70$/80€ asking price though.

Hey, since I was pinged by @slimerancher@lemmy.world I wanted to chime in. Make sure you are using Chiaki4deck and not just Chiaki. Both should be available in the Discover store in desktop mode. The main branch of Chiaki does not properly support the touch pad for games like Ghost of Tsushima and there are other PS5 improvements to things like color reproduction, etc.. There is even a steam deck controller layout template for it. I have links to these in the sidebar over on !ps5@lemmy.ml. The creator of chiaki4deck submitted their changes to the main chiaki branch but since it is in maintenance mode, it hasnt been accepted (at least since I last checked). Chiaki4deck is a fork. Let me know if you have any questions!

Yeah, Ni No Kuni was my first Pokémon game too, only later learned that this is what Pokémon games are like. Personally, I wasn't a huge fan of this either, but got used to it.

I like to play all the games in order, if possible, so will start with first trilogy, and then take it from there. Fortunately it's available on Switch, so no issues there.

Thanks for the info about Forspoken, I still have tons of games to play, so I am sure it would end up on PS+ before I am ready to buy it. Otherwise will get it on sale in a few years.
