misogynist, queerphobe? I never heard him say things like that. Where have you?

[–] MapleEngineer@lemmy.world 0 points 5 months ago (2 children)

I think you're getting downvoted because everyone assumes that you're being a pedant, not because your asked a question.

[–] Duamerthrax@lemmy.world 0 points 5 months ago (1 children)

Nah, they're definitely a troll.

Mods felt the need to remove their posts, but they were either a troll/bad faith actor or an idiot.

[–] dysprosium@lemmy.dbzer0.com 0 points 5 months ago (1 children)

I understand but what a weird thing to just assume

[–] MapleEngineer@lemmy.world 0 points 5 months ago (1 children)

I think it was the phrasing. The comment you responded to didn't say that Musk had said either of the things you asked about. If you've been paying attention to the news about the complaints coming out of his companies its very clear that he is those things. It seems that your question is intended to refute the contents of the comment by being pedantic about whether Musk had actually said those things.

[–] dysprosium@lemmy.dbzer0.com 0 points 5 months ago (1 children)

right, all fair. But nowadays everybody is spewing up nonsense, so it's only natural to stop and ask why/how. Sure, I could search the web, but I'm talking about the principle. If spewing shit is okay, then questioning it should also be okay, obviously.

[–] MapleEngineer@lemmy.world 0 points 5 months ago

It just sounded a little bit like you were jumping to his defense. I gave you the benefit of the doubt and explained it but I think that's what happened. There are a LOT of pedants on Lemmy who will argue about whether someone said a specific word of phrase rather than addressing the underlying and obvious truth that someone is a wretched asshole (like Elon Musk.))

[–] Censored@lemmy.world 0 points 5 months ago (1 children)

Yes, you're getting downvoted for asking a stupid question. Do you think people announce "I am a queerphobe and a misogynst"? Read between the fucking lines!

[–] dysprosium@lemmy.dbzer0.com 0 points 5 months ago (1 children)

I am not saying that he is not queerphobic or misogynistic. I just said that I haven't seen it, and asked if anyone would be so kind of pointing it to me. Chill out dude lol

[–] Censored@lemmy.world 0 points 5 months ago (1 children)

It's actually worse than you being incapable of reading between the lines. When presented with evidence, you denied it rather than thanking the person who provided it. So you were asking stupid questions to set up a bad faith argument. Congratulations on being an Elon dick sucker and douchbag.

[–] dysprosium@lemmy.dbzer0.com 0 points 5 months ago* (last edited 5 months ago) (1 children)

and rather than you specifically talking about an example that I misinterpreted, you say I "deny evidence". Why won't you mention something specific that I missed or misinterpreted (in article).

But again, back to what you said about me "asking a stupid question" how in the actual fuck does this work? Who is setting up "bad faith" ? The one asking a question? Omfg

[–] nomous@lemmy.world 0 points 5 months ago

Yes, it's called JAQ'ing off or Sealioning and is how people try to push an idea while still being able to say "oh no not me I'm just curious."

If you were actually curious you'd google it, or been aware of his descent over the last 5 years.

[–] A7thStone@lemmy.world 0 points 5 months ago* (last edited 5 months ago)

Someone who is not misogynistic doesn't usually offer to pay for sex with someone who isn't a sex worker. That he offered to pay for said sex with a horse makes it extra damning, but that could be my personal bias.

[–] BlitzoTheOisSilent@lemmy.world 0 points 5 months ago* (last edited 5 months ago) (1 children)

He made "cis" a slur on Twitter because it upsets him that his ex who left him is trans, and he hates trans people. He's had plenty of tweets and posts complaining about pronouns, trans people in general, and so on.

I can't speak to the misogyny (but I'm sure it's there), but instead if arguing with people about you "jUsT aSkInG a QuEsTiOn" you could just Google "Elon Musk queerphobic tweets" and Google will supply plenty.

I did, and the first two results were articles from former Twitter/X employees claiming there were homophobic and anti-semitic attacks on the platform after Musk took over. So yeah... Not sure what you want anyone here to do for you that you can't do yourself via a Google search, you clearly know how to type, and the phrase I suggested is less characters than all your comments combined.

Edit: And then after you did some googling and found the answers, you could edit your comment to say, "Wow, hey guys, I was wrong, he really is misogynistic queerphobic piece of shit," and be done with it, instead of doubling down like a troll.

[–] dysprosium@lemmy.dbzer0.com 0 points 5 months ago (1 children)

im not really interested in claims by others about him. If he's so misogynistic, I'm sure he made these remarks himself, too. (And FYI, I specifically asked for remarks he made himself, not claims about him.) I was just asking because I haven't seen any, which is quite normal when it's about other topics. But I guess when it comes to these ones, it's considered being a troll. Think whatever you think but that doesn't hold water. Especially nowadays everyone is spewing a lot of bs, so it's only natural to be skeptic then as well.

[–] BlitzoTheOisSilent@lemmy.world 0 points 5 months ago (1 children)

I'm not really interested in your bullshit anymore. There are tweets, from him. There are articles about him quoting tweets he's used highlighting everything everyone here us telling you. Fucking happy? Can you fucking comprehend now? They're his words, from his official verified X account.

"FYI I specifically asked for" GO FUCK YOURSELF. I specifically told you to fucking use your fucking brain and Google all of this, but you refuse, because you're a fucking troll just like Musk, whose cock you have so far down your throat it's tickling your taint.

[–] dysprosium@lemmy.dbzer0.com 0 points 5 months ago* (last edited 5 months ago) (3 children)

I haven't yet looked at them all but some of these are so retarded that I question your sincerity or sanity. E.g. How is saying "definitely attacked misleading journalism like yours though" considered sexist? This is beyond retarded.

[–] Lightor@lemmy.world 0 points 5 months ago

Ok Bud, gold medal mental gymnastics lol

[–] BlitzoTheOisSilent@lemmy.world 0 points 5 months ago (1 children)

THERE IT IS EVERYONE!!! Troll can't be happy unless they're moving the goal posts, now they need thorough context for each and every word Musk has ever said!!

To answer your question, despite you not asking it in good faith and then following it up with two uses of the R-slur: A female journalist raised legitimate criticism of Musk, and he completely disregarded everything she had to say. That's childish, and misogynist, since I'm sure if Daddy Trump or Papa Putin weighed criticism on him, he wouldn't have dismissed it.

So I answered your fucking question and gave you "sPeCiFicAlLy" what you asked for, so you're fucking welcome, troll, not that you know how to say "thank you."

And reported for use of the R-slur.

[–] dysprosium@lemmy.dbzer0.com 0 points 5 months ago

please block me.

[–] tjsauce@lemmy.world 0 points 5 months ago

That's not the sexist part, you have to read more. One Tweet can't prove anything, but several Tweets are a clear pattern of behavior. Quoting the first sentence betrays your disinterest.

asking questions

idk man, in the article I find what he said is:

-The "sexist joke" by saying "TITS" is just a dumb joke, not "misogynistic".

-The "Pronouns suck" comment, is weird and just vague, and not necessarily queerphobic. Maybe he just doesn't like changing the standard language much. It doesn't necessarily say he will purposely use the wrong pronoun on people, in practice. Too vague to work with.

-Calling Warren "Karren Warren" and saying "You remind me of when I was a kid and my friend’s angry Mom would just randomly yell at everyone for no reason". I guess maybe this can be considered misogynistic, but I'd by far attribute this to just "being rude", because he just insults her for her actions. Just because this insult is a comparison to another woman that acted hysterically, does not make it misogynistic. Yes, the "Karen" is generally a sex-specific insult, but again, this can also be taken as just an insult in general.

Yeah sure there could be more examples, but going from the link you posted, there is barely anything to call him misogynistic, let alone queerphobic. I don't care who he is, I'd have said this to anyone who said these things.

[–] nyctre@lemmy.world 0 points 5 months ago* (last edited 5 months ago) (1 children)

He's literally using the wrong pronouns and name for his transgender daughter. He's literally said he agrees with JK Rowling's transphobic comments.

You know how after a certain time has passed it's no longer a spoiler to talk about how Vader is Luke's father? Well, there's certain stuff that's so obvious and widely known that people will stop believing that you don't know about it and will assume you're trolling. The fact that you keep insisting that you haven't seen evidence of him being queerphobe is on you at this point, imo.

[–] dysprosium@lemmy.dbzer0.com 0 points 5 months ago (2 children)

The fact that you keep insisting that you haven’t seen evidence of him being queerphobe is on you at this point

I wholeheartedly agree, it's just that I haven't seen it, and that doesn't mean he is NOT queerphobic. I was simply asking questions. If you don't like that, what can I do about that?

[–] Zink@programming.dev 0 points 5 months ago (1 children)

Have you also not seen enough to learn why the “just asking questions” justification isn’t super effective around here?

It’s used as thinly veiled cover for spreading malicious bullshit while pretending the speaker isn’t lying to their audience. I’m not accusing you of this, in fact I’m explaining it hoping that you’re genuine.

[–] dysprosium@lemmy.dbzer0.com 0 points 5 months ago (1 children)

yes I had a feeling actually. But jesus fuck that is depressing, how else should one phrase it then? I try hard to think people are not dumber than decades ago, but it's seriously hard to keep on believing that sometimes. Now I have to jump through hoops just in order to be perceived as neutral? I'm out.

[–] Zink@programming.dev 0 points 5 months ago

Yeah it’s depressing and stupid, but for what it’s worth, it is much less about you and much more about all the bad faith fucknuggets out there who have spent decades learning to mimic good faith curious people.

[–] jaemo@sh.itjust.works 0 points 5 months ago (1 children)

I utterly detest the use of "wholeheartedly agree" when people have caveats. It truly goes against the concept of wholeheartedness. It is sufficient to indicate that you agree completely and then be silent. That you don't suggests your caveat has more value and meaning to you than the point you are 'wholeheartedly' agreeing with.

You are either being willfully obtuse or are actively a troll. Either way, we've all already used up more metabolism on you than is worthwhile. If you cannot bother to be informed about something as easy to know as this, and yet spout off multiple replies to defend your position, then you're not here in good faith.

[–] dysprosium@lemmy.dbzer0.com 0 points 5 months ago

I said I "wholeheartedly agree" with "it being on me" that I haven't seen something. Obviously. How can it not? Is it on you? No. You're being so incredibly stupid and prejudiced that it's hard to fathom. Now fuck off, you're right about wasting metabolism

[–] Duamerthrax@lemmy.world 0 points 5 months ago

Fuck off troll.

[–] Censored@lemmy.world 0 points 5 months ago

How right they were to downvote you.

Hi Elon! How is Twitter Co. today? Having a yummy lunch with your coworkers soon?
