It's possible, but the dev is mainly a "special effect and props" company who has worked in movies for quite a while, including The Lord of the Rings movies. From what I can see, this seems to be their first foray into gaming, which could explain some of the "lazy effort" look.
I see. It's just my interpretation from the trailer. I do really hope it's a good game, we need more of them!
