It’s not a trial transcript, it’s a public discussion. Most people reading it care more about the subject matter than about the commenters, and I try to write and edit comments with that in mind. I’ll edit for spelling, clarity, further information, etc.—anything that might be helpful for anyone reading. The only edits I generally refrain from are ones that affect the context of replies others have already made.
Some folks here sure do treat it like a trial transcript. They'd rather prove you're wrong than teach you what's right. Really wish that culture would've stayed on Reddit. It's so incredibly worthless.
