One of the things I miss from the Reddit coffee subreddit was the weekly bean recommendation threads so I'd thought I'd ask on here, what's everyone brewing this week?

I just finished a bag of Burundi Long Miles Gaharo Hill from Oynx Coffee Lab (https://onyxcoffeelab.com/products/burundi-long-miles-gaharo-hill?variant=40261580226658) that I made Kalita pour overs with.

That Onyx looks nice. I honestly haven't expanded beyond my local roasters but maybe I will try mail ordering a bag for once. Speaking of local roasters though (I'm in Portland), this is one of my go-to coffees: https://shop.coavacoffee.com/collections/coffee/products/kilenso

I also like Kalita Wave, but tend to default to V60 because my Wave is the 1-cup size and I'm usually brewing for my partner too :) That said I also switch off between paper V60 and a metal cone (made by Coava actually... yeah I like those folks).

I've always thought about getting a V60, do you notice any big difference in taste or convenience?

Alright, I just ordered two bags from Onyx (the Burundi, and the Geometry). Can't wait! Thanks for the recommendation.

Is this the metal cone filter you're talking about? I find I vastly prefer the taste of coffee brewed with a metal filter to paper, but the only metal filters I have are single cup. I'm also usually brewing for two, so I'm very interested in one that'll fit my Bodum Chemex knockoff! I'm a couple hours north of PDX so I'd also be happy to support a local coffee co.
