No, I just don't subscribe to them. So why would you contribute to the problem by posting a meme to a non-meme community?
Lemmy

That’s where Subscribed versus All comes in though. I do want to see what everyone is upvoting, even when it’s all memes/196 posts. We’re in a shitpost phase now but it’ll pass.
Definitely. I’ll probably unblock that stuff once there’s more variety to the All section
Yep this is where I'm at too
Ya it's a little concerning how quickly people shifted to posting low effort crap in bulk in order to simulate a bigger community
Yes, I started blocking meme communities. I think I've reached my "I'm too old for this shit" age or something.
I do still have the themed meme communities unblocked. Like programming memes and Star Wars memes. Those still give my old ass a sensible chuckle.
I had to manually search every community with meme and shitposting in it's name to block them. And even then I had to manually block a lot of others. I want to see memes and I enjoy the humor but it's not ALL I want to see.
Can you give me a list of communities you blocked? I would like to subscribe to them.
You know what? You just inspired me to do it. Definitely cluttering up my day and making me scroll way more than I should/had to.
Thunder app just added the ability to block.
I think I have finally blocked enything Meme or Shitpost. WOW! What a difference. I don't need to scroll anywhere near as much.
Joke on you. I'm here for the memes
That’s perfectly fine
Not so much in All feed and my Subscribed is feed is pretty curated, but if I switch to Top then pretty much yeah. 🤣
I did by accident but lets see how this goes. Then 196 intentionally.
I have to say overall the memes are much better quality than what I saw on Reddit.
Since I unfollowed them I had to do a double take on the community cause my subscriptions have no memes left, I still browse ALL for the whole experience, no bans tho
