Directed by Ridley Scott from a screenplay by David Scarpa, “Napoleon” stars Joaquin Phoenix as the French emperor and military leader. The film is an original and personal look at Napoleon’s origins and his swift, ruthless climb to emperor, viewed through the prism of his addictive and often volatile relationship with his wife and one true love, Josephine, played by Vanessa Kirby. The film captures Napoleon’s famous battles, relentless ambition and astounding strategic mind as an extraordinary military leader and war visionary. https://www.imdb.com/title/tt13287846/

With Ridley Scott's recent track record of making historical films, I think there's a good chance that I'm going to really enjoy watching this, but then put just a little bit of thought or research into the history and find myself endlessly frustrated.

It's been a long time since I've read much about Napoleon, but the trailer inspires me with no confidence about historical veracity, and I have little doubt that you will be correct in the end.

I will see this for Joaquin alone. Dudes a phenomenal actor

Can't put my finger on why but I'm doubtful. Looks like the most expensive trailer in the history of cinema.

Can't unsee Joaquim in a silly hat. But I'm pretty confident it'll be good regardless

Yeah I like the man but I don't know if he can play the fearless inspiring leader type.

Looks good … Russel Crowe would also have been a good choice but I guess he’s getting to long in the tooth these days.

So didn't Spielberg just recently announce that he was making Kubrick's Napoleon himself? Is that project cursed to be scooped again?!

Otherwise, looks good! Joaquin Phoenix works quite well here!!

It's an HBO Mini-Series, directed by Cary Fukunaga and produced by Steven Spielberg

Did anyone else have trouble hearing what JP was saying, every one else was fine?

It's a sad day when Radiohead gets the slowed down trailer remix treatment.
