You know what? I was using the official app, bearing its shortcomings, then i threw it outta the window yesterday, when i decided to try Sync and RiF patched with my own Client ID(hope you're not mad with that).
Sync is/was one of my favourite apps since 2013 - looking forward to seeing what the Lemmy experience is like.

I've been using Sync for many years, and I'll be switching over. I started with sh.itjust.works, and have moved to kbin.social because it supports a proper OAuth login process... I've read some people suggesting that kbin is a slightly differnet API than other federation sources, but... if it takes time, I'll wait, no worries. Or I'll create another account somewhere else... I think porting accounts and such is something that needs to be better handled, as does such a lot of the UI across all the different federation instances, but hopefully that's something Sync can handle :) Thanks for your hard work, and you can guarantee that if you offer it, I'll be going lifetime subscriber again. Totally worth it.

I keep catching myself clicking the old sync app out of habit, it's like muscle memory at this point when I unlock my phone ๐ Is the Lemmy update coming as a patch to the reddit app, or will there be a new download when the time comes? Just wondering if I should delete the old app to try and break my addiction in the interim.
I've deleted the old app and just put my current Lemmy app there, when Sync for lemmy is published I'll replace it again. This way I don't have to change a thing about my habit

I will definitely use/pay for this when it comes out just as a token of appreciation for your work on Sync.
But it'd be awesome if you picked up support for kbin as well when it's API offerings are fully out, it's my prefence over lemmy by far.
