Over Christmas my oldest who is six months pregnant brought with her a home heart monitor device that lets you hear the baby's heart. I heard my granddaughters heart for the first time the other day and yeah, happy tears!

My 2.5 year old daughter recently decided to start calling us “mom” and “dad” instead of “mama” and “dada.” Hearing it made me realize she isn’t a baby anymore, which resulted in a long hug and a mix of happy and sad tears.

That murdered me. I'm not dad! Thankfully it was a phase. At 7, still introduces me to strangers as "Daddy"

We got our parents stuffed animals with the heartbeat to tell them when we were expecting. Definitely happy tears there.

As for me, a couple weeks back my 5 year old was up early, as usual, and calls me into the living room to show me the sunrise. He was just so excited about the colors and I sat with him in silence watching it.

My daughter does it almost daily... she has such a huge heart. She is an infinitely better person than I could ever hope to be, and I'm just trying to I make sure I do my best to not ruin her and give her all the support she needs.

About seven months ago, my 3yo slept through the night. It was beautiful. Hasn't happened since..

I can't say that's ever happened to me. Is that something that is common?

It's happened to me several times. So maybe!?

But maybe I'm just a sap?

Some people cry more than others. I spent years without shedding a single tear, and now I cry every day!

Both are perfectly normal.
