I was at a publix buying a cake some years ago and the guy scanning it flipped the whole fucking thing upside down to scan the barcode underneath. It was a cake massacre

I'd be so mad at that. You didnt ask for a replacement?

[โ€“] Astroturfed@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago

If this was reddit is assume he just paid and typed up a post about it in the parking lot. But maybe this guy isn't a weird schmuck.

The butchered this beautiful title

[โ€“] Dampyr@lemmy.world 23 points 1 year ago

Isn't it nice that we can edit posts title on lemmy? FYI @STRIKINGdebate2@lemmy.world :)

Maybe, but with a sharpie and a bit of creativity, you could have yourself a barely functional wall clock.

[โ€“] STRIKINGdebate2@lemmy.world 12 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Are you saying I should get a sharpie, chop it up and use the chopped up bits as decoration? I like that idea tbh.

[โ€“] waxsta@lemmy.world 6 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Just make sure you use a blue sharpie like he said. I've tried using a green one and it just makes a giant mess.

That's because you need to use more transparent ink.

Eh, it's all still there, I'd still eat it. Take a slice, scrape off the cream thing and put it right back on.

[โ€“] AFKBRBChocolate@lemmy.ca 13 points 1 year ago

Wait, so they dusted it with cocoa powder and then put those frosting dollops on top of that? The lid might have been the only thing holding those in place.

It's funny when you just have to write 5 words but then you still mess it up. You had 5 jobs!

[โ€“] SteveTech@programming.dev 6 points 1 year ago

Look the other 4 words are fine, so that's still 80%, which is a pass right?

[โ€“] Lawyerator@lemmy.dbzer0.com 11 points 1 year ago

I now assume cake comes from a shell like a scallop. Those are its teeth. It must cost extra to have the teeth removed.

[โ€“] Ertebolle@kbin.social 10 points 1 year ago

Look at the mess they made of my boy...

[โ€“] falsem@kbin.social 9 points 1 year ago (1 children)

If you use a putty knife (or something similar) you could probably scrape them off mostly intact and reapply them.

If you have time and room in the freezer, sticking it in there for an hour or so first will make it easier to remove the icing blobs in one piece.

You are one quick spatula slide away from a sugar coma

I thought this was a clutch plate from the thumbnail ๐Ÿ˜‚

[โ€“] roon@lemmy.ml 2 points 1 year ago

'mildly' infuriating would be an understatement

[โ€“] CassowaryTom@lemmy.one 0 points 1 year ago

Nice. My pinch hitter looks like that. Incidentally, no I wouldnt do that, usually, but it isnt a trigger for me.
