It's amazing how a literal 3d wooden rectangle with a sliding top can show off craftsmanship like this. Very pleasing to look at.

Maybe in an idiot but is that really precision joinery? It looks like simple butt joints..?

Don’t get me wrong I think it’s pretty. But precision joinery I associate with more complicated joints.

I see kind of a rabbit/ dado for the lid- that's a joint! and look at the butt joints they look picture perfect. It's great work, and this woodworker made it look easy.

Maybe my standards are lower. I'm also referring to the sliding fit of the lid which may be called something else
