China has been behaving badly lately.
Lmao according to whom? I wish we had China as our neighbor instead of the fucking US, stealing our land and resources at gunpoint, always threatening an embargo, buying up our politicians, starting covert operations and protecting organized crime. China has never done anything to us except provide mutual development and affordable goods, and all the US does is threaten to invade if we get closer to them.
Remember when China killed 60 million people because they were idiots? I do. I also remember them invading Tibet and the Philippines.
Tibet has been a part of China centuries before "the west" realized you couldn't drink the water where your pig shits.
And so has America. However imagine if every comment about every topic related to America was filled with "They are arming a genocide!"
I mean, this post is just about the fun facts Americans and Chinese are learning from each other about how we really live and cutting through both nations propaganda and instead of talking about how FUCKING COOL THAT IS, we have to stop and have this conversation. Yeah, and China has been acting real nice lately. Go talk to everyone of their neighbors. The hatred is real for a reason.
We genocided native Americans, currently have the largest enslaved people population in the world, and actively have destroyed other countries simply for not wanting to be friends with us when we really wanted them to be our friend.
We have a president actively advocating for invading Mexico, invading Panama, annex Canada, annex Greenland.
The problem with trying to shit talk the "evils of China" is that as Americans, it's purely hypocrisy. We don't have a fucking leg to stand on. Everything they've done we have done or are currently doing.
Does that make what they do okay? No of course not. But pretending they are this axis of pure evil when all they have done is the typical things a large state does is hypocritical and makes you look silly.

False equivalence. I wish the US had done the belt and road initiative, instead of having over 900 military bases, predatory loans with policy mandates attached, black ops and political assassinations as well as forcing extractive rather than productive economies on the global south. China hasn't dropped a single bomb on other people in decades, has never seized an asset from a debtor, has never engaged in a war to steal oil and gas or forced an embargo to starve out a nation, let alone starve several dozens at any given time.
The only countries in the 20th century doing what the US has been doing internationally are Nazi Germany and Japan.
And did mentioning these things just make the message disappear on US-based lemmy-instances?

And what do you know about Chinese censorship? You just say words but have you spoken to a Chinese person from China and idk. Asked? You can do that. It's happening right here. My point is you don't know shit about what a Chinese forum would even look like. Youve never seen one, read one, talked to anyone who has.
