(sorry for the autoplay video, I didn't add any video to the post)

At least 104 cases of E. coli infections were linked to the outbreak, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, including 34 hospitalizations and one death.

...

FDA inspectors said they discovered "numerous equipment with apparent biofilm and large amounts of food debris" around the Taylor Farms facility in Colorado Springs, even after workers had supposedly completed their required cleaning procedures.

The FDA said that Taylor Farms quality control officials had signed off on cleaning at the facility as passing, even when agency inspectors said they could still see "several food contact surfaces that were not visually clean and should have been marked as a 'Fail'."

Food debris building up on the company's equipment was so bad that it was leading to cross-contamination, the FDA's inspectors worried. A company that had been buying green peppers from Taylor Farms complained that onions had found their way into their ready-to-eat product.

...

"Production employees handling RTE produce and food contact surfaces were not observed using any of the handwashing sinks in the facility," the FDA's inspectors wrote.

...

The FDA's inspectors also discovered Taylor Farms was frequently skipping the drying step after dunking tools into a solution of sanitizing chemicals, which inspectors feared was resulting in the solution being "directly applied" to ready-to-eat produce.

I'm Canadian and I recognized it but only after reading the description "Mike Jones"

Back then... they didn't want him ๐Ÿ˜ฎ

Two, eight, one; three, three, zero; eight, zero, zero, four.

If you remember 2005 and are also a Texan who likes rap music, these barked digits hold a particular affection. When Houston rapper Mike Jones became famous, he notoriously rapped his phone number aloud over the brilliant, organ-driven beat for โ€œBack Then.โ€

I'm in Canada and it's how I got all my meters until I got switched to a CGM. The hospital sent me home with a starter pack with a brand and some samples. I've never seen generic strips here, but that would be welcome. I've used FreeStyle and AccuChek and both required the branded strips, but never had to pay for a meter. I've seen commercials on TV for Contour doing the same deal.

Best Buy used to/might still idk sell a meter under the brand iHealth, the strips were about half the price. I tried it out and it worked fine but eventually I got proper insurance and used what was prescribed.

Blood Glucose Monitors and the related test strips. Usually you can get the meter for free if you buy 100 strips or something, and then you're locked in to the closed system

Some fairly recent phones even had docks that would charge your phone and a swappable battery at the same time

I just got a P14s because ThinkPad was the last laptop out there that still had physical buttons (only for the trackpoint, the trackpad is the Apple click-anywhere style that isn't for me). Even the Dell XPS (RIP) and HP ProBook now have only those, and obscure brands I found in reddit threads that supposedly had trackpad buttons no longer did.

I also strongly prefer the efficiency of middle button and trackpoint scroll to repeatedly scrolling on the trackpad.

End of an era.

I remember those being in bars forever, the vending machine with the massive knob on top to turn for all the options, but I always thought they dispensed tiny bottles, not a spray out of the machine like this

I would hope that all the politicians and celebrities people actually parasocially care about would get all the attention something like this would stir up and compared with how awful so many of them are in public, even the worst posts of mine would hopefully end up pretty tame in comparison to whatever they're up to anonymously.

I really like Wild Wild West, I didn't watch it for forever because of how hated it is/was but thought it was actually funny and enjoyed the mix of steampunk and goofyness. Kevin Kline is always great.

I also like Jingle All the Way and watch it every few years, it's perfectly watchable until the very end when it collapses under a terrible CGI spectacle that just doesn't work

I went to see it at noon after dropping the car off for work and was literally the only one in the theatre. I thought it was pretty good.
