Yes, I don‘t think such protests would fall under the general protesting laws as they have nothing to do with your working conditions.

What are those? DDG, Bing, Ecosia etc. are all not really better than Google. I haven‘t tried Kagi yet, mostly because it costs money.

They may be a progressive force (as in a driving force in global politics / dynamics) but that does not mean it has to be positive. And it‘s not cynical if you look at the massive human rights violation, the treatment of opposition or ethical minorities in China. I do not want any of that. But if you want to trade it for a few years of your life go for it.

Are you suggesting that this justifies the killing and kidnapping of hundreds of civilians? Yes, fundamentalist Israeli settlers are a big part of the problem but this new level of terror won‘t help anybody

Still not gonna change a damn thing. The (federal) government(s) don’t care, they are busy framing harmless protesters as potential terrorists and jailing them accordingly. Or they simply change the law again so that they do not have to be held accountable for their missed goals (see the ministry for transport).
