What is there to recognize? This is a survey conducted on 2,000 Americans. 2,000 is just 0.00057% of the whole US population which is estimated at 345,426,571.

The average user absolutely do not use block ads unless it is enabled by default in the browser. Chrome with the largest market share does not block ads by default and if you are going out of your way to block ads or use a browser like brave that do that by default you my friend are already not an average user.

Yes I agree. If you are using adblocker you are already not an average user. Using A adblocker with custom filters put you on the extreme end and most of those users are either already on FF or have migrated to FF since the MV3 announcement.

And let's not forget adblock made for MV3 will work well enough for those users who aren't using adblocker with custom filters.

Even if Google kill off adblock completely with its browser, chrome will still be dominating the market by a huge margin.

Denuvo profits off game developers fears of their game not being well received by gamers for reasons such as performance issues, bugs, or at its foundation is just a mediocre game.

I like to believe that the narrative that piracy hurt sales is only true for medicore/bad games because the average pirate is broke and they are not going to buy your game just because of denuvo and those who can afford to buy will choose not to after getting to try it.

On the other hand good games will always be commerical successful with or without denuvo.

i don't get this 'generation gap' thing. There are also Milennials who are just as clueless.

You can always dive into the whole private tracker, sonarr/radarr + media server setup if you want superior quality or just to host your own files. But if you are happy with what streaming sites/apps provide that is fine too.

I for one am glad that piracy is easily accessible by anyone who has access to the internet.

I used to root my android phone to limit battery charge + adaway. But recently I finally gave up with rooting due to all the restrictions that comes along with it.

All I know is piracy definitely has an impact on bad games/products and if you give the consumer something worth buying, they will most definitely buy it if or when they can afford to.

They might also recommend it to their friends or talk about it online which lead to additional sales that would not happen if they didn't sail the high sea.

My opinion is that with or without denuvo a good game or product will always sell itself.

Take Wukong black myth for example. Even without denuvo i believe it will still become a huge commerical success. Perhaps it would even have sold more units because there are people who simply refuse to buy any game no matter how good it is as long as it has denuvo.

Piracy definitely has an impact on mediocre game that is lacking in every aspect. But then again the average person who pirate is probably broke and is probably never going buying it anyway so 🤷‍♂️

Speaking of phones.

I just had to buy new ones recently for the older folks at home because of the lack of VOLTE support on their phones. Those phones were perfectly fine and adequate for their use case (basic call, message) and they wouldn't have to change phones if it were not for the 3G network termination.

Now they have new phones with functions that they will never ever use.

Changes to the online advertising market would make online ads less valuable for publishers and merchants, and less useful for consumers.

If by useful they meant anything that is heavily promoted by Google ads get added on the 'will not touch with a 10 foot pole' list. Sure, I guess?

Also hinting at changing their business models, raise the cost of devices, should chrome or android be forced to break up.

Google blog response is exactly why this breakup should happen. They are getting out of control.

I just wish there are options. I love to have one of those newer LG OLED without all the smart capabilities & additional hardware. Just a good screen that I can hook up to my PC and direct play all my shows and let the GPU handle all the necessary upscaling/tone mapping.
