But the association with the left side of the body goes farther than just patches. Lapel pins go on the left lapel, and when hung vertically from a wall the union goes to the viewers' left.

And TGIF means "thank god it's Friday" :P

Traditionally, the "union" (blue part) is on the left side, closest to the heart. Thus, when worn on the right shoulder it's reversed.

The chronically homeless, the ones that are hardest to get off the street, are difficult to house for reasons besides availability or cost, though.

"Please" is short for "if it pleases you" or "if you please". It's used to turn a command into a request. It's probably not used on Lemmy, etc. because we're not requesting things of each other a lot.

He seems to be confusing "freeware", which is basically a license for copyrighted work, with "public domain", which is the absence of a copyright.
