For real. She asked me if I'd like to stay for another drink, I said no thanks and went home.

I read most religious texts when I was a young teen, cause I was a little nerd who loved to read and had nothing better to do.

The Vedas (Hinduism) were really intriguing. Some of their stories very much sound like a futuristic post-human society, with stuff like nuclear warfare.

Austin Powers. Introduced my dad (who bears a striking resemblance) to it and we had a right laugh watching together

I tried to look for a super-remote forest location last year; my intention was to take a tent, get dropped off on the edge, go deep into a forest with laptop & keyboard, to write some forest-inspired music. I was pretty shocked to find out that all our once-deep forests are criss crossed with roads. You were kinda joking, but you're literally right, there's nowhere far from a road in any of our forests.

Thanks, I appreciate your comment bigtime. TBH I feel like the stuff people like me go through, while it sucks, is nothing compared to the vicious persecution trans people receive now. It seems like the right has switched their floodlights onto them as the boogeyman to be attacked atm.

I will say though, I have nieces who are working through secondary / college and of course there is still discrimination, but it seems to be way less of an issue for younger generations, which is a comfort :)

If someone posted a video titled “Why we hate bi women”

FWIW, they also have a video with that exact title so at least they're equal opportunities when it comes to clickbait titles!

I probably shouldn't have watched this video today as I was already feeling a bit down. Whoops.

My worst experience re this problem... was on a date with a woman, it was going really well, we were in a pub after the meal and ended up kissing. She pulls back, takes a deep breath, confides in me that she has experimented with women and asks if that's a problem? I breathe a sigh of relief, say it's no problem and that I'm pan. She immediately pulls back further with a look of pure revulsion on her face, and says "Sorry but that's just a huge turn-off. I know it's hypocritical but I can't help how I feel"

She was a therapist too. I'm putting myself out there again as of the last month or so, but I didn't date for a long time after that. I kinda feel like I don't want to even bother trying to date someone who isn't also LGBT but it seems the prejudice is also high in our own community!

I wish I had the confidence to dye my hair blue! I've always wanted to try blue hair. Whenever I walk past someone on the street I always have to stop myself from visually 'miring it, because the person with the blueness doesn't know that I'm gawking out of admiration

I'm sorry that happened to you. Something I wish people would bear in mind when it comes to LGBT people... we're just people. So by that metric, some of us are lovely, some of us are depressed, some of us are angry, and some of us are shitty.

We're not shiny magical rainbow people, just humans with the same flaws as everyone else. You'd think someone who had suffered hatred & persecution would not inflict it onto someone else... but sadly, some people are just shitty. You had an interaction with an exceedingly shitty human being who happened to also be LGBT. Please try not to let it influence you, or prevent you from meeting awesome people at future events!
