Whenever I get Starbucks I feel guilty because they are union busters. I've been making a lot more coffee at home.

Just search "sort" in the settings and you'll find a spot where you can set the default sort. I also switched mine to hot.

If you click on the 3 dots to access the post options for a post from that instance, there is an option to filter out just that community or even that whole instance. I've done that with several non-english instances.

I heard a "friend" was unable to load his subscriptions feed on that same instance in sync but loaded local, everything, and individual communities just fine.

Sync for lemmy has the option to filter out instances so it doesn't appear in your feed on the app. Unfortunately, it will still appear on the web.
