Is it possible to disable them? I don't really see a point in them being there. I don't have use for them and they just take up screen space.

Now, if only I could get the touch sensitivity of my phone decreased so that any stray sideward movement of my finger didn't take me out of post comments and back into the post list.
Yes I wish there was an option to disable lateral swipe controls. The back arrow does the job just fine.
