Warm Scents

  • Brush: Dogclaration LG 2022 Mystery Brush (B16)
  • Razor: Dovo 41 Inox
  • Lather: Highland Springs Soap Co and Australian Private Reserve Eclipse
  • Aftershave: Spearhead Shaving Company Seaforth! Fleur de France
  • Fragrance: Chatillon Lux Gratiot League Square

Back home, back with all my den, I went with a warm scent combo. I thought that Eclipse and Gratiot League Square both take their warmth from the leather, tobacco and vanilla (Eclipse doesn't have vanilla in the scent notes, but bourbon. My nose tells be it's bourbon vanilla, not bourbon the beverage, but I might be wrong), but when I put it together with Fleur de France, I think that the musk may play a bigger role than I thought. Either way, I'm happy with this combination, and I like how versatile Fleur de France is.

Any cool pictures from skiing?

[–] djundjila 2 points 10 months ago* (last edited 10 months ago) (2 children)

It was Djunior's first real ski vacation, so I'm afraid it's not really "cool" yet because pushing him around on sleds and toddler skis was the priority. But it's cute!

Looks like fun! Must be nice to have snow. The places here can't even make fake snow yet.

[–] djundjila 1 points 10 months ago

Yeah, it was great!

We also don't have snow yet at the elevations ski resorts in your neck of the woods reach. We had to go well above 2000 m for this

[–] gcgallant 2 points 10 months ago (1 children)

Yes, very cute! I'm sure that Djunior loved it! Both of my kids started as skiers but moved to snowboarding which is was more popular among their peers as they aged.

[–] djundjila 2 points 10 months ago (1 children)

I think I might have grown up in roughly the same time as your kids. Both my sister and I also started it learning skiing, and switched to snowboards in our teens like our peers. For some reason, we both switched back to skis at some point.

My kids (twins) are in their early thirties. Neither has returned to skiing. I thought my daughter might, but she has decided to take the winter off and be a snowboard bum in Utah, California, and New Mexico this year (2024). My son is a {snow, skate, skim, surf, wake}boarder with plans to snowboard in the Alps in the next month. Happy New Year! (btw).

Ah, that sounds awesome! Happy new year to you too!

  • Brush: Dogwood Handcrafts "Santa Noir" w/Maggard 28mm SHD Badger
  • Razor: Fatip Classic Testina Gentile
  • Blade: Personna Platinum Chrome (2)
  • Lather: Barrister & Mann - FougΓ¨re Classique - Soap
  • Post Shave: Australian Private Reserve - Raconteur - Aftershave
  • Post Shave: allMan - Refined - Balm

Fougère Classique brings the stank. I think it's the jasmine that hits my nose the strongest, in a good way.

  • Brush: Elite Razor Neo-resinate 26mm Mother Lode

  • Razor: Gillette Super Adjustable 109 (Black Beauty) Gold O-4 (setting: 5)

  • Blade: Personna Platinum (4)

  • Lather: Wholly Kaw - Entropy Man - Soap

  • Toner: Thayers - Rose - Toner

  • Aftershave: Wholly Kaw - Entropy Man - Aftershave

  • Talc: Yardley Gold

2 passes. Face lather. Excellent shave.

Entropy Man is brilliant! I enjoy it every time I use it, and I think that the creamy nature of a very hydrated Siero soap base really contributes to this.

Boltzmann++;

[–] PorkButtsNTaters666 4 points 10 months ago (1 children)

So what's the deal with Boltzmann? Explain like I'm 5.

[–] djundjila 4 points 10 months ago* (last edited 10 months ago) (1 children)

Ludwig Boltzmann is one of the fathers of thermodynamics, and he mathematically formalized entropy. The formula is engraved on his tombstone. He is the real life Entropy Man.

[–] PorkButtsNTaters666 3 points 10 months ago (1 children)

Thanks! Now I'll die less stupid, as we say here!

[–] gcgallant 2 points 10 months ago

Yes, the upside is that @djundjila@sub.wetshaving.social has given you the background to use the expression Boltzmann++ with confidence.
