New week, so reaching for the next razor in my rotation. The Micromatic Clug Pruf is another great shaver.

Because using only one razor would be boring, I guess :P ?

πŸ˜„ True. Still, a damn good safety razor.

Twenty-third Day of Getting a Grip on TabOKtoberfest

  • Brush: Dogwood Handcrafts Tabak Oridjinal
  • Razor: Henkotsu Kamisori
  • Lather: MΓ€urer & Wirtz – Tabac Original
  • Post Shave: MΓ€urer & Wirtz – Tabac Original
  • Fragrance: MΓ€urer & Wirtz – Tabac Original

I'd describe using this kamisori definitely not yet as autopilot, but "routine" feels right. #Progress

Stank ++;

Edit: our Lemmy seems super responsive since the migration. Thanks, @walden@sub.wetshaving.social, for pushing for self hosting! (and for doing the work, of course!)

I'm sure it helps that it's geographically closer to our users in Europe! We could move it even closer very easily. They have a "snapshot" function which allows transfer of the entire disk to another server.

I'll look for datacentres in the centre of Lausanne πŸ‘

If none of our users have a ping of less than 2ms, what's the point?

Yes. Much better. The slow responsiveness was getting annoying. Thank you @walden@sub.wetshaving.social!

@djundjila was equally to blame for the successful (so far) move. I learned a lot from him about shoring up the security of some stuff, which I plan on implementing with other services that I host for myself and have exposed to the web.

Glad I could help! And it was fun!

2 passes. Face lather. Excellent shave.

Very nice shave. I'm enjoying comparing the Vector to the WR4. Back to the WR4 tomorrow. My sense of this is that the WR4 feels a bit more natural to me and provides a slightly closer shave. We'll see.

Since Friday I've been dealing with a very annoying cold. It's mostly centered on my nose, as well as occasional dry cough and a general feeling of weakness.

Figured since my sense of smell is impaired, I could as well use unscented soap. On the weekend I trimmed my longer stubble into a circle beard, so I just did one pass around that. I still managed to get some weepers due to careless shaving and not having the greatest motor skills while I'm sick.

At least now I look less like a bum next to my classmates in nursing school. Since I have no fever, I still attend class. Can't afford to miss too much.
