Ah, so now people will be incentivized to spam more bombastic and extreme content to more and more fanatic groups, brilliant.

As ads revenue is crashing, they want to be able to rely on something less easy to quantify in order to modulate it. Previously they had to pay x cents per click, now they can just divide the little they earn arbitrarily in order to keep in the green.

Anyone advertising there should go fuck themselves.

Engagement from other premium users* so that Twitter influencers have incentive to sell premium. It does sound like beginning of a pyramid scheme.

Elon's fuckery of 'The platform formely known as Twitter' is the gift that keeps giving.

Here's my suggestion for a new company motto:

"X: It's Twitter but it's Shitter."

Sure keeps on giving. Reminds me of the time when Trump was President.

Listen, we have "engagement", why not call this type of of content "enragement"?

Do advertisers even engage with that shit platform anymore?

[–] TheTechnician27@lemmy.world 30 points 1 month ago

Unilever certainly does, so fuck them.

Funnily enough that's exactly what many full time microbloggers have been asking from Xitter for years. I always thought it was a silly idea and if you want to make money from your tweets print and sell them as a book like any other self-important celebrity or become a ghost writer for other people's Xitty microblogs. If you're that good, people will pay, surely.

People made careers out of tweeting?

I had no idea that was possible.

[–] Stanley_Pain@lemmy.dbzer0.com 6 points 1 month ago

Not sure why people even bother with that site anymore.

[–] Linktank@lemmy.today 4 points 1 month ago

I'm sure that will go well. Definitely won't increase the amount of prank bullshit going on.

Nobody gives a 💩💩💩!

[–] Tarogar@feddit.org 8 points 1 month ago (1 children)

I do give a shit, and at this point I want to see that platform taken down for good. Because otherwise it's a platform for nefarious shit and abuse. And no one needs that. Especially not the gullible.

That's a good way to give a 💩💩💩!
