Sixteenth Day of TabOKtoberfest - Midway Point edition
Halfway through TabOKtoberfest and Stanksgiving is nigh. Modern Thiers Issards have the reputation of having geometry issues, but this Dandy spent a few minutes on my finishing stone and its edge is now a singing joy to use. The shank is a bit on the thin side, which gives me a feeling of reduced control, which is a small nit I'm picking with this design.
Anyway, it's good to be home with the full-sized Tabac software range, full-size strop, and full-size bathroom. Have a great week, friends!
Conference Travel +-;
Stank ++;
What are you using for a travel strop? I’ve traveled with one of my bench strops, a full-size strop, and no strop (current trip) where I thought I’d be clever and use denim from jeans. I won’t use the denim approach again.
Edit: Stank++; // I note that tomorrow is Tuesday and I’ll be back from my trip.
I'm using this soft little 5 cm wide strop. It's supple and cheap enough that I don't worry about folding the leather. I have travelled with full size strops before, but this is not a bad alternative.
OK. Thanks! Tony Miller (Heirloom Razor Strop Co.) is here in MD. I think I'll contact him and see if he will make me a travel strop similar to yours.
