From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Linux is a family of open source Unix-like operating systems based on the Linux kernel, an operating system kernel first released on September 17, 1991 by Linus Torvalds. Linux is typically packaged in a Linux distribution (or distro for short).

Distributions include the Linux kernel and supporting system software and libraries, many of which are provided by the GNU Project. Many Linux distributions use the word "Linux" in their name, but the Free Software Foundation uses the name GNU/Linux to emphasize the importance of GNU software, causing some controversy.

OK so on windows my soundblaster x4 can output both the spdif digital output thing and the analog audio to my headphones at the same time and use the volume knob to adjust the volume of them so one gets louder the other quieter.

on endevour os nothing of the sort exists, apparently this is the way to add a profile for it. however this didn't work for me. ive also tried adding it to the 9999-custom.config but that didn't work either. any assistance?

Do you require a fixed config file or would a patchbay like Catia or qpwgraph suffice?

In that case just use qpwgraph and wire the outputs to both the stereo and s/pdif outputs.
If either of the outputs is not available then the driver doesn't support them, which is not uncommon for Creative devices, to put it mildly.
