It's sad to see how many are returning while nothing was achieved.

I hope that they reevaluate this move.

I mean its pretty amazing it’s the 15th now and over 5000 are still private when the plan was supposed to go up to the 14th. Many have just switched to restricted. This also gives time for people to get used to other platforms and still get help transitioning away from Reddit while using Reddit to do so. It also gives time for improvements to the fediverse and the apps available.

When you say it like that, and the news article I just read regarding 30% decreased activity on the most frequently used subreddits which causes ad companies to be cautious regarding running and launching ad campaigns... this is indeed huge :)

Personally I don’t want to be apart of something I loved being destroyed by corporate greed anymore. They ruined the connection facebook allowed for families and friends. They ruined the connection of instant sharing of hobbies with instagram. They ruined digg, they’ve been slowly ruining Reddit since they killed alien blue. I don’t get it, with the changes to gold and premium and all the extra stuff they monetized it just doesn’t make sense they can’t break even or make a small profit. It’s like instead of operating on their cash they spent other peoples money with big interest and now it’s coming due. Maybe it’s just pure greed.
